Welcome to the Village of Pecatonica
Pecatonica is a Midwest Village in Winnebago County and is located in Northern Illinois 10 miles West of Rockford nestled alongside the Pecatonica River. Turn North at the intersection of U.S. Highway 20 and Pecatonica Road (Pec Corners) and head North 1 mile to enter Pecatonica. Downtown Pecatonica is at the center of a quiet neighborhood where locals and visitors can enjoy a variety of  salons, shops and restaurants through-out the year. The Pecatonica School District #321 has one of the highest ratings in the area.   A variety of churches are embedded in the small town and welcome guests each week. Children beg to play at the three community built parks, the softball and baseball fields are the place to hang out in the summer, and everyone enjoys the new walking and bike path and nearby Forrest Preserves. It’s a long standing tradition for young and old alike to kickoff summer Downtown at the Memorial Day Parade, the 2nd largest Memorial Day Parade in the State of Illinois. Make it a day at Cars On Main Downtown in July enjoying new and vintage cars.  And don’t forget about the Farmer’s Market on the town square every Saturday morning, along with semi-annual flea markets like the famous “Pec Thing”, and in Mid-August the fairgoers come from miles around to attend the Winnebago County Fair.
